Built-up feature maps show the various manmade features in a given area. Built-up features are typically impervious surfaces that comprise constructed surfaces such as rooftops, sidewalks, roads, and parking lots that are covered by impenetrable materials such as asphalt, concrete, brick, and stone. Potential applications for this product include storm water billing, monitoring environmental effects of increased watershed imperviousness that results in adverse impacts on water quantity, decreased water quality, changes to microclimates, habitat degradation and destruction, and diminished stream and landscape aesthetics.
