Ortho-Imagery: FAQs
Q: What is the map accuracy of digital orthophoto products?
A: The accuracy for digital orthophoto updates is dependent upon the accuracy of the original digital orthophoto and DEM used to produce it. For first-generation orthophotos, Pixxures utilizes ground control provided by local surveyors, aerotriangulation and DEM compilation to meet the project specifications. Pixxures' experienced technical staff makes every effort to meet your project accuracy requirements for your digital orthophotos.
Q: What is the typical turn-around time for a project?
A: Because every project has different requirements, delivery schedules are generated on a case-by-case basis. Prior to the start of the project, a scope of work and delivery schedule will be finalized. An experienced project manager will keep the project on track and communicate progress throughout the project life cycle. In addition, the project status can be checked at any time on Pixxures’ web site with a custom login and password for each client and project.
Q: Can imagery be delivered in a custom projection and/or with a custom tiling scheme?
A: Yes. Pixxures can deliver imagery in almost any projection. The image tiling scheme can be designed to match an existing format from earlier orthophotography or conform to other custom requests. Image delivery projection and final tiling scheme will be agreed upon prior to project commencement.
Q: Is metadata provided with the imagery?
A: Yes. Pixxures can deliver FGDC compliant metadata.
