Pixxures 2004 Year in Review

January 2005 - Pixxures had a lot of activity in 2004. Here's a snapshot of just some of the projects we worked on:

Traditional Mapping Services

Avista Utilities: Project consisted of orthorectifying first- and second-generation imagery for 10 counties within Washington State, over 800 square miles in either six-inch or one-foot resolutions.

DRCOG (Denver Regional Council of Governments): Project consisted of orthorectifying first- and second-generation imagery for eight counties within the Denver Metro area, over 5700 square miles in one-foot resolution.

NAIP (National Agricultural Imagery Program): Involved for the second consecutive year, Pixxures was one of a few subcontractors working to orthorectify second-generation imagery for five states, almost 76,000 square miles, in one- and two-meter resolutions.

Landiscor: Involved for the second consecutive year in 2004, Pixxures was awarded the contracts to create second-generation orthophotography for numerous metropolitan cities including Las Vegas, Phoenix, Denver, Colorado Springs, Tucson, and Palmdale ranging from six-inch to two-foot resolutions.

NCTCOG (North Central Texas Council of Governments): Working with this council of governments for the second consecutive year, this project consisted of orthorectifying second-generation imagery for 312 square miles in a one-foot resolution.

Portland Metro: Project consisted of orthorectifying second-generation imagery for over 900 square miles in six-inch resolution.

Solano County: Project consisted of orthorectifying first-generation imagery for over 900 square miles in six- and one-foot resolutions.

Vector Alignment Solutions

Harris Corporation/Census: Pixxures is one of a few subcontractors through Harris Corporation working to improve the accuracy of Tiger data for over 3200 counties by the 2010 Census. Pixxures completed over 150 counties in nine months of 2004. The contract was renewed for 2005 and Pixxures plans to complete over 200 counties within that year.

Denver Water: Using Pixxures' LineWorks? service, the company completed a pilot project for Denver Water consisting of 44 vector layers. The pilot resulted in a full contract to update vector data covering over 150 square miles.

City of Moline: Pixxures utilized LineWorks? to update 18,750 parcels to align more accurately to their updated orthophotography.

CLU (Common Land Unit): Involved for the first year, and one of Pixxures' largest contracts to date, Pixxures was awarded and completed Idaho, Michigan and North Carolina. Pixxures was also awarded Florida, Alabama, and Arkansas to be completed in 2005

Jefferson County, CO: Pixxures utilized LineWorks? to update 187,000 parcels to align more accurately to their updated orthophotography for over 800 square miles (33 full or partial townships).

Direct Digital Services

MAPA (Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency): Pixxures was subcontractor on project to process 2250 square miles, both 5- and 10-inch resolutions in Nebraska and Iowa (parts of 5 different counties) and delivered color, panchromatic and near infrared bands.

McDill AFB ADS40: Pixxures was subcontractor on project to process 205 square miles at 1.67-foot resolution over the St. Petersburg, Tampa and McDill Air Force Base in Florida delivered in color.

Keaton Beach, FL: Pixxures was subcontractor on project to process digital orthos at six-inch resolution in Taylor County, delivered in color and panchromatic bands.

Charlotte County, FL: Pixxures was subcontractor on project to process one-foot resolution color orthos for over 190 square miles in order to assess hurricane damage in Florida.
